Millionaire Mindset

Last week I spent a couple of days in meetings with a group of very successful online entrepreneurs. Their focus online varied considerably. Yes there were some membership site owners but also some information product developers as well as an importer/exporter.

The income levels of some of them were pretty staggering. All the way up to $30 million+ per year. That works out to about $80,000 per day.

No that wasn't me (!)

I think its safe to say that everyone learned something in those 2 days from other people present.

One of the most obvious observation of these successful people was their "can do" attitude. Collectively they had some real "outside the box" thinking but more importantly, they focused on a larger scale than most people would ever consider possible.

As an analogy, if they were going to open a new business (say a store), they wouldn't be looking at just the one location. Instead they start with the ultimate goal in mind and work backwards from there. For them, it would be owning a whole franchise of these stores and having the systems in place to duplicate the steps necessary to do so. Very much like what is talked about in the E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber

In the case of a membership site, your goal could be to dominate your niche online. If so, write out exactly what that means in as much detail as possible.

You then have a road map to work back from. Now that you know where you are going, create the infrastructure to get yourself there.

How I Save $100 to $200 Everytime I Travel

I shared this one with two people this week and both were pretty thrilled to know about it. One of them sent me an email today. He said that I did in fact save him close to $200 today for a trip he had next week.

My tip? Use Priceline.com anytime you go to rent a car.

If you are not familiar with Priceline, it is a service that let's you choose the price that you are willing to pay for a car rental or hotel room. I never tried it with a hotel room as I prefer to choose my own, but I do use it for rental cars.

During the two times I used it, I bid $12 a day for a compact car which was immediately accepted by reputable rental agencies. I could have (should have?) bid even lower but I figured that was pretty low as it was.

I don't particularly care what I drive for a rental as long as its reliable and get's me where I'm going.

In both cases, I had a nice surprise. Upon showing up to get my car, both times they had to upgrade me to a larger sized sedan. The price stayed the same however. It's not bad driving around a Mustang for 3 days for around $55 dollars (including taxes).

Bootcamp Update

We are very happy with the response to the Membership Site Bootcamp announcement so far. The ticket sales are going very well and there's no doubt it is going to sell out.

I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and the topic agenda is pretty amazing.

For anyone still interested, you really need to get on board sooner than later. Not only will it definitely sell out, but there is a price increase coming up. You can read more about it on the Membership Site Bootcamp sales page. Let me know if you have any questions on it!

Interesting Discussion Forum Posts

How to handle soliciting in the Discussion Forum  - Ken wrote " I guess it's inevitable that some people will join a site then post their web address and a 'hot offer' in the Discussion Forum. I'm talking about business service soliciting, not dating! This is just starting to happen on my site. What do others do when this happens?..." - Click here to read the thread.

Leading With A Product Or With A Membership?? - " Several membership site owners, including me, have and sell both subscriptions to their membership site AND physical products (CDs, DVDs, ebooks, etc.) that are related to each other. In some cases, the membership site idea came after the physical product (as in mine) and in some cases, the physical products came after the membership site was well-established... " - An excellent discussion followed discussing various tactics and marketing angles to consider. You can read that here.

Happy Dance - New site doing well! - A new membership site was recently launched and the owner is thrilled with the results so far. You can read more about their success here.

Business structure of Membership Sites - Here are some questions that more membership site owners should probably be asking themselves as they get set up. Specifically what some of the various legal issues are and if there are considerations to structuring the business which owns the site. Here is the discussion thread.
