Saving Money Registering And Renewing Domains

I've been using Godaddy for several years to register my domain names. I have nearly 100 of them there and most of them are set to renew automatically each year. I set some to be manually renewed so I can reevaluate each year whether to continue paying for them or not.

Each time I go to buy or renew a domain name, I never pay Godaddy's full price for it. While they are inexpensive ($8.95 per year), I typically save 10 to 25% each time buying or renewing. I do that by using coupon discount codes. Here's how to do it.

1) When you go to buy a new domain, don't go directly to Godaddy's web site. Instead, search for these words in Google: domain names

2) The very top listing will most likely be Godaddy's own saying something similar to "$6.95 Domain Name - Save" - click on that ad

3) You will be brought to their special offer page where new domains are only $6.95 per year (you save $2 per each domain)

Renewing a domain instead?

If you are renewing a domain name, you can still use some of their coupon codes. Typically I search Google for the words: godaddy coupon codes - Doing that will show me a bunch of them. The problem is that many of them are outdated.

If you want to have the newest coupon codes from Godaddy sent to you automatically, you can subscribe to an email alert by going here.

Otherwise, I tend to go to this forum post. It is an on going discussion thread where people post the most recent Godaddy promotion codes. Its important to go to the VERY END of this forum thread so that you get the most recent codes. For example I renewed 5 domain names this morning by using the most recent coupon code of: gdh1114 (this will expire shortly so don't count on that one being active long). Using that code, I saved $8 on those renewals.

There's no reason to spend more than you have to and now YOU know the secret!

Joey is going to be putting videos on his new membership site. He is asking for some guidance on how to do it...

"I downloaded Riva FLV Encoder 2.
I have a 30 minute 'Outdoor Workout' on DVD that I would like to put in my site.

Is this too long a video (I read some of the previous articles on bandwidth , etc...)

If its not too long - is there video tutorial to show me how to go from DVD to Riva to my site? "

Perry was kind enough to create step by step Camtasia tutorials showing him exactly how to do it. To read the full forum post, click here:

Larry Pike is on our panel of experts at MembershipSiteOwner.com - He posted how he is going to bring his site up to the next level in 2007. He publicly posted a challenge to other MSO owners to do the same and we will track the results. Quite a few members are already on board with this to make 2007 their best year yet with their site. Here is part of his challenge:

"Most of my past New Years resolutions have involved working out or dieting and lasted til about February 1st if I was lucky. "Just Say NO!" to those type of resolutions! (Ryan - my appologies if that cuts into your gym owners incomes this year!)

I just don't do resolutions anymore. But here's something I am doing this year...

I'm making a commitment to take our business up a couple notches. And one of the primary focal points is..."

On A Personal Note...

Thank you to everyone who has sent well wishes for our impending arrival of our second child. Still no baby (yet!) but Kathleen is more than happy to get it over with at this point. We had a couple of moments this week where we thought it was time but then things subsided. Travis is also anxiously awaiting the baby and gives her a hug everyday. Very soon...

We've been trying to enjoy Travis' last days as the only child by spending as much quality time as possible. This weekend we took him to our local beach as it was nearly 70 degrees (Fahrenheit). It normally should be only about 30 so it is unusually warm here in New Hampshire.

Travis was very excited about going to the beach... as well as going in the water... I had to break it to him gently that we couldn't go in and play in the waves today as it was a bit too cold. Here is a video clip of me breaking it to him. I've never seen this "boo boo face" on him before. He was very disappointed but thankfully recovered quickly to enjoy the rest of our walk:
