Happy Valentine's Day

The view from my side porch this morning. 12 inches of snow is expected today.

For all of our U.S. readers, Happy Valentine's Day. If you haven't gotten your significant other something special yet, what are you waiting for?!?
Before we get started, this picture is a quick peek off my porch this morning. We are expecting about a foot of snow today. It looks like we've already gotten a few inches from it.
This is really only the second snow fall this season of any tangible amount.
That is very strange for New England. We would normally have had about a dozen snowfalls by now.
If this global warming keeps up, New England will have weather like Florida...
Is Your Domain Registered With RegisterFly.com?
If you have your domain name registered with Registerfly.com you will want to read this:
http://www.enom.com/migrate/faq.asp
They appear to be having some serious issues.
If you decide to transfer them to another registrar, you will need an authorization code from them. It can be a bit difficult to locate (hmmm). The code can be found in:
manage domains > [select a domain] > modify contact information > scroll down to the bottom of the page for authorization code.
You may also want to double check any charges that you had with them in the past. I know of several people who had multiple charges totally up in the hundreds of dollars for transactions that didn't occur.
I personally use godaddy.com but there are other good ones out there as well.
Backing Up Is (Not) Hard To Do
Admit it. You probably don't backup your computer as often as you should.
What if, while reading this page your computer suddenly shut down? Your hard drive crashed. Would there be a knot of stress in your stomach wondering how many files you just lost?
What if there was an easy, inexpensive, automatic way to do backups? That is exactly what Carbonite software's backup service is providing.
You can read about my experiences with it in this article. For less that $50 a year, I can automatically back up my whole computer with no extra steps necessary on my part. Pretty sweet. Check out my review and then try their 15 day free trial. I bet you will be quite happy knowing your essential files are now backed up.

Should a membership site be associated directly with you for branding purposes?
Anyone have any thoughts on personalizing your sub websites?
Meaning this is (for example) Tim Kerber's MembershipSiteOwner.com site rather than just MembershipSiteOwner.com
I have been thinking about this and I do happen to gravitate towards
sites that are associated with a single person/personality.
They also seem less congested somehow and more focused rather
than trying to put everything but the kitchen sink in.
It could be a perceived expert or sometimes not. It seems like it is just
the idea of a person behind the site you can get to know.
Thx.
